At the tier I'm playing, a run is successful if I complete the dragon, win with about 300k gold, and also have anywhere from 150500 ore, depending on imp luck.

Especially when you combine that with potions. I was grabbing 45* average gold pick up with double ore pick up. Plus 45 * xp.

WEBI have a level 8 paladin atm, and only just unlocked tier 3 town (and still missing quite some tier2 upgrades). I feel the fastest way to find ore is going very fast trough the mines. If I didn't find enough ore for a particular goal, I could always use the gold I found to buy some.
